Teen activists are teenagers that have a goal to stand out and help people. They face challenges throughout the way, but accomplish their goals in the end. Three of the many teen activists are, Malala Yousafzai, who is innovative and fights for women's rights; Alex Lin, who is conscientious, considering he has saved our environment with reusing E-Waste; and Iqbal Masih, who was a sign of ending child labor. These teens are the people who were not afraid to do what's right even if they were scared. Malala, Alex, and Iqbal made a difference in the world by helping children, especially girls, going to school, donating and stopping pollution, and ending childhood slavery.

Iqbal Masih was a very attentive person considering he always worked hard and did his duties. Masih had to work an entire year without getting paid, and would receive a fee if he made any mistakes. By the time he was ten, he owed $260 US, since he needed food, tools, and made mistakes while working. Mashi’s family owed the carpenters more money because they kept borrowing more and more money. Iqbal worked six days a week, 14 hours a day. The Rug Making Industry would treat the kids bad, for example they were beaten and had harsh punishments. Iqbal wrote, “We were too frightened to help each other.” Masih learned that the system of bonded labor he was working under had been outlawed in Pakistan in 1992. The Bonded Labor Liberation Front helped get him the papers he needed to force his employer to free him. Iqbal was very unhealthy and suffered from arthritis, breathing problems, and kidney problems all at just the age of 10. His body stopped growing when he was half the height of the average 10 year old. The BLLF helped Iqbal escape and offered him schooling. Iqbal jumped at the chance to study at BLLF, where he finished 4 years of schooling in just 2 years. Masih started a campaign and traveled out of Pakistan to places such as Sweden and the United States where he gave speeches about child labor and how we should put an end to it.
