Imagine being 14 years old and being taken away from home and put into foster care. Now you’re not just any girl you’re that one girl that has no friends. To make matters worse, imagine you are constantly ridiculed for being overweight and humiliated because you grow enough hair to be labeled a “beast”. How would you feel if the “cool kids” asked you to go out partying? You would be exceedingly ecstatic! That was a day in the life of Reena Virk. It was a good day followed by a nightmare of a night. The influence others have on us can be very positive. People can do wonderful things for us. However people can be evil and have a catastrophic and excessively damaging effect on what we become as people. People influence our behavior. The closer people are to us the heavier the influence they have on us. …show more content…
I already did that. Now if your friends wanted to beat a 14 year old girl to death, would you? Reena Virk was expecting to have a good time. How could she not? She was probably praying for the day that someone would ask her to be their friend. It’s just unfortunate that when that someone finally came along, they were not intending to be Reena’s friend at all. That night Reena was beaten to death by eight teenagers. This is exactly the type of situation that shows how evil people can be and the catastrophic and excessively damaging influence people have on who we become. Because there were so many people that took part in the assault it probably seemed like it was acceptable behavior at the time. Well they just kicked her in the stomach so it isn’t so bad if I stomp her face! People are ultimately the most influential force in the world. In this case people were influential in a bad way.
