After I read “The Hunger Games”, by Suzanne Collins, I have noticed some ironic situations. The author showed how people could act ironically. The Capitol people in this novel react with Peeta when he confesses his love to Katniss as they support him or feel sorry for him, but when it comes to the arena, they want to see deaths. The first time readers are introduced to how the capitol audience reacts is when the tributes showed themselves in the opening ceremony.…

In the Hunger Games, the most important similarities the movie shared with the book was making Peeta initiate the idea of him and Katniss being lovers. This is so significant because, without this, most of the main events in the book and movie would never have taken place. For one, this angle would have left Katniss to be just another face in the crowd, not making her stand out, which also meant fewer sponsors, decreasing her chances of survival. However, the most important reason for this is because Katniss would have left Peeta to die when he needed her the most and she would not have been able to plant the small seeds of defiance against the capital. In the movie and novel, the games take a surprising turn when an announcement goes out that…

After reading and watching The Great Gatsby, I now have a firm picture in my mind about the story. The movie brought another aspect to the picture that the novel could not produce. The music used in the movie brought more senses to gather the bigger picture. The songs, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” “Back to Black,” and “Young and Beautiful” capture the pleasure, lust, and dreams that The Great Gatsby portrays. “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” brings in the mood of the roaring twenties and introduces some points found in both the movie and novel.…

In the song, Swift describes the early stages of the relationship using the simile, “autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place”, which can be assumed to mean how complete and whole she felt while with him while also referencing the time frame, which would be autumn (Stanza 2, verse 3). Throughout the song, Swift repeats the phrase “I remember it all too well”, basically enforcing her feelings that this relationship was impossible to forget and she remembers every detail clearly because that is how much it had an impact on her life (Stanzas 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). She further enforces the statement by adding lines such as “I can picture it after all these days” and “’cause there we are again” (stanza 2, verse 3; stanza 4, verse 1). She also mentions the heartbreaking details she remembers, such as “in the middle of the night, we dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light” which cleverly uses rhyme in “night” and “light” to add some flow to the lyric (stanza 8, verse 2). “We’re singing in the car, getting lost Upstate”, “you almost ran the red ‘cause you were looking over at me”, “I left my scarf there at your sister’s house”, are all lines that reinforce the idea that Swift was able to remember the tiniest specifics about their…
