How do music artists increase their revenue? There are many ways music can bring money in. There are a few strings attached depending on what road you take. Some ways could possibly bring in more money than others.
Music artists get money from getting record deals. That record label takes a small percentage of your sales. When signing to record deal you are in a contract in which you agree to put out so many studio albums.

That small percentage the label takes starts to add up after a while. That’s why some artists choose to stay independent. Some see the money in staying independent. For others, it is a pride thing. They feel they shouldn’t have to sell out for some money.
Artists without record deals make more money. They are called independent artists. In today’s time, it is not hard to share your work. There are all kinds of free promotion platforms. Independent artists use those platforms to get famous instead of having a record label do it. All money made is profit for the artist. There is no third party.
