4.1. Research question 1: “How do Japanese and Indonesian students think about the teaching style in their home country?”
Figure 1 shows the number of students who are feeling under pressure when studying in their home countries. It shows that all Japanese students have been experienced in feeling under pressure when studying in their home country. The data shows the same number of Japanese male and female students who are sometimes feeling under pressure and always feeling under pressure. However, slightly different to Indonesian student with 50% of Indonesia student are rarely feel under pressure

It is show that teacher and student in Indonesia are involved together in forming group for classroom activity. Whereas in Japan, teachers are usually the one who formed the group for classroom activities. It describes 100% voices from Japanese students that say teachers are the one who form the group class activities.

The other fact is that the result has found 70% of Japanese and Indonesian students have agreed with the statement on authorization of the teacher, which should not be questioned. As a result, it can be clearly explained that Japanese and Indonesian students are less likely to participate in the class activity. One study found that this kind of teaching style is categorized as one way teaching style, which students are not be commanded to involve in class activity. This situation might be different with the situation in New Zealand as it occurred in Asian countries. It is because every country is different with one and another in teaching styles (Cothran, Pamela, Banville, Choi & Al, 2005). Based on The Press (2004) stated that the students in New Zealand are more interactive compared to students in Japan. It is because in Japan, the students see a teacher as fountain of all
