I feel that it is important from older adults to stay active because not only does it benefit them in the future, it also helps society and peers. Having cognitive programs for older adults can be useful, because it’ll get them to use their brains more. Emotion programs help older adults stay whole as a human being. Without emotional programs, people wouldn’t be a emotionally stable. Being emotionally stable is important in everyday life. Being physically active for older adults is important. It helps them maintain a healthy body-weight, you feel better about yourself, it helps improve overall fitness, also improves your mood and self-esteem. Social programs help older adults stay mentally active. They get older adults to meeting new people that they can connect with and eventually be friends with over time. Social programs can also help older adults interact with one another. Not being isolated can help a lot when it comes to older adults because of the fact that they might not have anybody else. Their loved ones might have died so they could be dealing with depression in some cases. As older adults some of them know that going to a residential home is their last stop in life. Older adults get more spiritual as they get older therefore they tend to go to church a lot more. …show more content…
I would address the group of high schoolers or I would get a group of residents to explain why this myth isn’t true. The second step I would implement would be inviting the high schoolers to either view a program or take part in a program, just to see if they are able to do to what the residents do daily. The third thing I would do is ask the high schoolers if there’s any questions related to the program.
