Abstract: An enzyme, a protein, is a catalyst, which increases the rate of the chemical reaction. The results of this experiment showed how different temperatures could affect the chemical reaction between the enzyme and the hydrogen peroxide. The temperatures tested in this lab were 30, 35,40,45 Celsius, which are close to the average body temperature which is 37 Celsius. Catalase is an enzyme which breaks down hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. Different temperatures were measured to see the effect temperature has on the rate of the reaction.

Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to determine if the different temperatures had an effect on the function of the enzyme, catalase. Our hypothesis was that as the enzyme will be more
