Greek people believed that their origins is from east side that is why most of their crucial aspects located there. We can see the east pediment and the statue of Athena facing east. The ancient Greeks worshipped many gods. These gods had different personalities and domain. Zeus as discussed in the east pediment of the Parthenon was foremost god of Greeks’ twelve principal deities. He was believed to be the sky god and father of all the gods. The ox and oak tree to him were considered to be sacred. Hades and Poseidon were his brother and they both reigned over the Underworld and the sea respectively. Zeus is sister Hera, she was a queen of gods and she was depicted wearing a tall crown.
