This made the war very hard for the British army as the colonists would hide and shoot while the British would walk in lines shooting in orderly fashion. This was very unusual for the British at the time but they still would fight back. The British may have thought that this is an improper way and unfair way of fighting but the colonists only wanted to win the war. So the geography played a major role in the colonists winning their freedom. The geography helped the colonists hide when being shot and shooting the British while the British were walking uphill tired . The climate of Yorktown virginia was mostly warm.
