How Did Walter Disney Influence The World

Walter Elias Disney was an famous american entepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor and film producer. He was born in 1901, and lived for 65 years. During his lifetime he created multiple fictional characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. He also won 7 Emmy awards and 22 Academy awards. These days Walter is not known only in America, but all around the world. He inspires millions of people and has been one of the most well succeeded cartoonists since his lifetime.

Walter Disney startedhis animation career in january 1920. During that month, Disney and a company named Iwerks started a short-lived company called Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists. Because of a not so succesful start, Disney had to leave his own company

Due to Disneys exitement the owner of the ad company agreed to let Disney take a camera home to try out some animation outside of work.

Walter Disney created Mickey Mouse after he had lost the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Mickey was desinged by Disneys produceteam, but Disney himself brang him to life. He acted as Mickeys voice, made his personality and gave him a soul.Mickey wasn't just an idea that popped into someones head, instead it was carefully designed and based on a mouse Disney had adopted earlier. His name was not originally Mickey, but it was Mortimer. The name was changed by Disneys wife, Lillian Disney, because she said the name Mortimer Mouse did not sound appealing.

The first two shortfilms Disney created to introduce Mickey were called Plane Crazy and Gallopin Gaucho, and they were both silentfilms. They failed to find a distributor, so they could not be released. Not a long while from that, a businessperson called Pat Powers came to Disney and offered him distribution and a Cinephone sound synchronation process. Disney started working with him and released a shortfilm called Steamboat Willie, this with sound. When Disney gained success in this, he desided to add sound to all of his earlier cartoons, and managed to do it
