Van Gogh (The Sower)

Every artist has his or her own style of painting; it depicts a story that has a personal significance to the artist and grabs attention towards the viewers. One of the most important artists during the impressionism times was Van Gogh. Most art lovers see Van Gogh as a troubled but yet successful person. Aside from his chaotic life, which led to a lot of drama and controversy, his paintings made way to his life and how captivating they would be towards the viewers. He used colors in order to push emotion to the audience, many his works often reflected his own mood and surroundings. The artwork is displayed as a long field with birds and with a sower throwing seeds, behind the sower towards the left corner is a blue house with a bright sun being centered. The work explains the immense thought and consideration and passion Van Gogh put into the creation of it. When picturing Van Gogh into creating The Sower I imagine him working in front of an easel in a place where he would know. Its like a perfect moment captured by him where it cultivates what he feels and wants the viewer to know. In the painting you can see how he works with speed yet with delicacy its like if his decision is based upon what he is painting instead of working from a deep thought out plan. That is how I see it, when I see the sower in the blue colorful field; the brown pathway leads me directly to the house. Its as if Van Gogh wanted the audience to go from the sower to the blue house instantly. The bright patched sun is centered in the middle which gives the sign that it’s summer, the reason why I think and consider that its summer is because the sky appears to be yellow instead of blue and gives a strong indication that it’s a hot day. The rays of the sun are bright and extend the painting which give the audience the indication that it’s an early day, maybe morning since the sun appears to be rising up instead of

I would rank Vincent Van Gogh as one of the top ranking and influential artists of all time. He extensively influenced the way modern art is produced and the use of certain artistic techniques. Furthermore, during the twentieth century, his artworks were relatively radical and creative for his time and the use of expressionism and post-impressionism to expose his emotions on the canvas using colours throughout his diverse range of paintings. It is, however, evident that the people of the early twentieth century were not ready to embrace the beauty and genius of his style and artworks. Van Gogh produced many artworks under the post-impressionism/expressionism genre counting: Starry night (1889), Café Terrace at night (1888),…

He is saying that he recognizes all the different colors around him and that when he was in the north those colors were hidden. He also see’s things through different eyes, “She is a woman whose looks have faded, a poor soul, resigned to her fate, nothing out of the ordinary and so insignificant that I long to paint that dusty blade of grass” (Van Gogh 605). In this part of the letter he sees the beauty even in things that most people would tend to not even take a second look at. He sees what this woman has gone through and wants to paint her as she currently is. It shows that not everything in the world is bright and flashy but there can still be beauty in the…

As a post-impressionist painter, Vincent Van Gogh's work of art is notable for its beauty, color, emotion, and has influenced many 20th century artists. "I want to paint what I feel, and feel what I paint" from Van Gogh himself, is a feeling that any artist may experience through the expression of his or her own art. His legacy has endured through the course of time and represents what difficulties life can present to one pursuing the love of art. Art is powerful, emotional, imaginative, dramatic, and can be so intense that it boggles the mind. However, Van Gogh for all his struggles was able to portray the spiritual essence of man and nature to canvas with the flick of the hand and a…

Vincent van Gogh, born on March 30th 1853, became an influential contributor to the Post-Impressionist art movement and impacted the development of 20th century art. Through his “impulsive, gestural technique and symbolic colours” (Callow, 1990), he encouraged artists after him to interpreted the world through their eyes, mind, and heart. By challenging the natural representation of his subjects, incorporating themes of deeper symbolism and emotional content into his works, as well as his bold stylistic brush stokes, allowed for a significant perception in the art world. His sense of freedom for experimentation discarded the traditions of the Impressionist style in which restricted artists to focus on the effects of colour and light in nature…

Knowing the difference between a good painting and a bad painting is very difficult, even for an expert. I believe that the paintings should not be precise or real, maybe for some painters it is, in my opinion an artistic creation must be unique, that arises with the purpose of transmitting something special. A good work of art is the one that is difficult to forget, it is as if you enter a gallery full of paintings, and when you finish seeing them all, only a few are engraved in your memory, those that managed to capture your attention, arousing feelings and emotions. That is the painting that is worth admiring. But if I am in front of a painting that does not inspire me, there is no point in admiring it.…

“The Scream” I really like this painting because it has mystery and anxiety and to my innersole, it reflects a sense of how profound the feelings and thoughts of a person can be. In addition, the fact that the painting shows an individual screaming during a perfect sunset moment is what draws me to admire such bizarre piece of art. Even though it seems to be that it is a lovely evening for everyone, apparently it is not for such induvial. The subject screaming seems to be scared and perhaps confused about something. Hence, looking at this mysterious individual posing his hands on his face with his mouth wide open gives me the impression that he or she is experiencing something that no one else around is able to notice.…

Van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853, in the Netherlands. Vincent moved to Paris for a couple years, where his art began to gain the style that would eventually make him famous. In Paris, he was discussing art with some of the most influential artists of his time, like Gauguin. He discovered that the dark palette he had developed before, was now out of style. He started using more color, applying the paint with thick, bold brushstrokes, and painted everyday things that were around him and that he saw.…
