Mischievous: causing or showing fondness for causing trouble in a playful way. Tom Sawyer and I are more mature at the end of something than we are at the beginning of it and the beginning for me is 7th grade and for him is the novel. We both change and the main ways are social, academical and maturing. During the 7th grade school year I have changed a lot but mostly academically and socially. But during the novel Tom changed by maturing and being more respectful. During the novel Adventures of Tom Sawyer Tom changed and matured. Tom takes responsibility and gets in trouble less and also helps his friends when they need it. At the beginning Tom was mean and didn’t care about what happened to them, he also was mischievous

One character in the book that had changed The most in my opinion was T-Ray Owens. We all knew him as an unloving, uncaring jerk, that abused his dead wife and daughter. Throughout the book T-Ray punishes Lily over small things and always accused her of lying. He made her kneel on grits for over an hour because he caught her outside after dark and assumed she was with a boy. He always pushed Lily around and was known for fighting with Lily’s mother.…

An example of his misbehavior is when he made others kids whitewash the fence, simply because he did not want to. He also used to smoke and swear a lot. Practically all authors include the theme of change in their novels. Change is an essential event that fundamentally affects the characters of a story. The changes that the characters face often reform the way they view events that take place around them. Change strengthens the relationships of a character, thus highlights the character’s role/impact on the story’s main idea. The novels, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies and “The Scarlet Ibis” all emphasize the importance of change.…

Some say that throughout The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn the main character Huck is innocent and doesn’t seem to grow or mature. Additionally, they critic that this lack of growth and innocence is a weakness to the entire novel. Although these readers have argued that lack of growth and innocence is a weakness to the entire novel, closer examination shows that it is actually a strength. There are factors such as, the battles he has to face, Tom Sawyer's influence, and his way of life that lay the groundwork to this strong and entertaining novel. While examining this novel we can see that there many instances where Huck is faced with battles, both external and internal.…

In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, the main character, Tom, and his guardian have a distinctive relationship compared to the other parental ones displayed. It is evident that his guardian, Aunt Polly, wants to raise him to become a good citizen, however, she is thwarted by his adventurous and mischievous spirit. Hence, I wanted to show how maturity impacts the interaction between two people through a father-son and mother-son relationship. To illustrate, the novel opens with Aunt Polly attempting to find where Tom is hiding and when she does, he is covered with jam. During her attempt to punish him, he fools her and “fled on the instant, scrambled up the high board-fence, and disappeared over it” (Twain 4).…
