How Did Tom Sawyer Change

“Maybe you will have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”-Carrie Bradshaw. These words mean a form of change. This quote also reminds me of a book called The adventures of Tom Sawyer. In the book the main character Tom experienced change throughout the whole book. Just like Tom I have changed throughout my 7th grade year. In the beginning of the book The adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom was very mischievous. He didn't listen to his Aunt Polly much. At the end of the book Tom listened more to his Aunt Polly and many more. He made better choices and was the hero of the …show more content…
I changed academically throughout my seventh grade year. In the first part I didn't really know how to spell the best. And use the word in a right sentence. In math I wasn't really good at doing the problems and understanding them. In the middle of the year I was struggling with my tests and quizzes. I learned to study more for them at the end. I learned how to put words in the right sentence. Math got easier for me when I got a hold of the problem. I learned more words than I knew before. I noticed that I also changed emotionally and socially. In the beginning I never really talked in class. I didn't have as much friends as I do now. I was as shy as fox not really noticeable. During the middle I came out of my shell like a turtle. At the end, I had multiple friends and a bigger group. I hung out more and learned to talk more. I trusted people more and everything. All and all the book The adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom Sawyer has changed through the book. Just like Tom I have changed too. I changed throughout my seventh grade year. In academically also emotionally and socially. “Maybe you will have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”-Carrie

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Chapters 1-4 1. Huck is more mature than Tom Sawyer is, but is still a boy at heart. Huck shows maturity when Tom wants to “tie Jim to the tree for fun,” and Huck stops him from playing this prank on him (9). Huck also goes to school and “can spell, and read, and write just a little” (17). Huck’s maturity could partly be due to the fact that as a child he was beaten by his father, and he has experienced hardship in life, but he is still a normal kid who joins the band of “robbers,” and raids the Sunday school picnic.…

Irish author, Charles Handy, once said, “Change is only another word for growth, another synonym for learning” (“Charles” 2017. Par 7). Handy attempted to convey that growth is prompted by change. This assertion is a lesson that I learned first hand when I moved from Tennessee to Michigan at the age of ten. The move pushed me into adolescence, and I transformed into an entirely different person that year.…
