How Did Theodore Roosevelt Impact Society

Theodore Roosevelt has left a huge impact on the United States. Theodore is commonly known as “Teddy”. He achieved many great things during his lifetime. He won a Noble Peace Prize and he was the youngest man to ever become president of the United States. Teddy was adored by many Americans and his face was carved into Mount Rushmore. The teddy bear was created in honor of Teddy. He has created a legacy that still lives on.
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 in New York City. He had two sisters and one brother. He was educated by tutors until he went to Harvard at the age of eighteen. In 1880, he graduated from Harvard College. He went to Columbia University Law School for one year, but he dropped out to enter public service. Teddy married a woman named Alice Hathaway Lee and had one child with her. She passed away and Theodore was remarried to Edith Kermit Carow. They had five children together and resided in Sagamore

He was the first president to get reelected after gaining the White House due to the death of his predecessor. He was president from 1901- 1909 as a member of the Republican Party. He ran again in 1912, but he lost to Woodrow Wilson. He ran as a “Bull Moose” party candidate.
During his presidency, Theodore set aside over 200 million acres of land for national forests, national parks, reserves and wildlife refuges. He brought order to the Dominican Republic’s finances in 1904. Roosevelt convinced Congress to approve building ten battleships and four armored cruisers for the Navy. Teddy tried to get the right from Colombia to build a canal across Panama. He set up 25 irrigation projects and set aside 18 sides for national monuments.
He tried to get new laws to control the nation’s railroads in 1903. He was also the first American to receive a Nobel Peace Prize because he helped end the Russo-Japanese War. He did many beneficial things during his
