How Did The Us Join Pearl Harbor

The day of December 7, 1941 was devastating for many. The tragic acts were at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on U.S territory. The bombs were dropped to hit the ammunition stores, which exploded. Consequently, many ships, vessels, and aircrafts were sunk or damaged during this attack from Japan. Because of this, the U.S had no choice but to join the war. On December 8, 1941 Franklin asked congress to declare war on Japan. On December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor, a U.S navy base near the Hawaiian island of Oahu, was attacked by the Japanese. One of the very few who knew about this plan was Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, a Japanese leader. The Japanese had to keep it secret so that the U.S had no time to prepare. In the end, the Japanese thought that while the war was starting, the U.S would be recovering so they couldn't join it. Japan didn't want the U.S to join the war because the the Japanese would not be able to win a long drawn out war against the U.S. In addition, the U.S were the only ones who could stop Japan from expanding if they were to win the war. There were two waves of those attacks. The first waves purpose was to attack battle ships and carriers at 6 am., the second waves purpose was to destroy what was left of everything at 6:30 am..
