How Did The Treaty Of Versailles Cause Ww2

As a result of the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I, World War II was started and ultimately resulted in the death of fifty million soldiers and civilians. This Treaty of Versailles forced the country of Germany to accept full responsibility for the Great War. Other countries involved in World War I forced them to pay for the restoration of areas within Belgium and France that were destroyed during the fighting. This caused an economic depression to spread throughout the country, and other places in the world, making Germany desperate and weak. The Treaty of Versailles also required Germany to disarm their military, which would only allow them to fight defensively. Due to the uneven terms of the treaty, the people of Germany became very angry and felt ashamed of their country. This allowed the rise of the infamous Chancellor of Germany, Adolf Hitler, in 1930. Hitler promised to restore Germany’s honor and power, which drew in the attention of German citizens.
