Paris France – War does not always bring peace. In the case of the French and Indian war, a winner has been declared but peace was absolutely not been found. February 10th, 1763 is a long awaited historic day as it marks the end of 7 year imperial struggle between Britain and France. The Treaty of Paris has created successful negotiations between the United States and Britain to end the revolutionary war and recognize American Independence. The Seven year War began in 1756 when the French expanded into the Ohio River Valley. The expansion created a sequence of battles between France and the British Colony over land possession.
The overpowering strength of the British military and the wealth of resources gave them the ability to beat the French. The French were more strategic by partnering with the Native Americans but the British outnumbered them in the large battles. The French found early success in the war with the help of the Native Americans and the use of their barbaric fighting techniques. By 1756 the war started to become more than just a revolution it also become a holy war. Great Britain was Protestant and they feared the Catholic religion. They wanted to stop the French Catholic and the converted Catholic Native Americans from controlling North America. In 1757 William Pitt, became the new British leader and help Britain eventually win the war. He believed the war was a great way to build a bigger empire.
