Changes in political culture from the absolutism to the moderate revolution that lead to the French Revolution
There have been many revolutions throughout history some see as more justified than others such people in America see their revolution a necessity. But I personally believe that the French Revolution was more radicle and due to centuries in the making. Through new ideas and philosophers of the time this lead eventually lead to the French Revolution. Every citizen may accordingly, speak, write, and print with freedom, but shall be responsible for such abuses of this freedom as shall be defined by law,” (The Declaration of the Rights of man and of the Citizen 164) respectfully. There are two big ideas that are seen here which are freedom of religion and freedom of speech. These rights can have been seen as a big turn away from political tradition because people won’t be put into jail for speaking out against the church or government or for having different ideas. But the biggest contribution that lead to the French Revolution was how the king handled all of this which was simply ignoring the people’s request and never seeming like a strong leader that was there for the people of the nation. Which made the people more and more angry until they resorted to the terror where very few trusted each other. All the past problems and an unfit monarch, and new ideas created the perfect storm of what the revolution became. But even then what they accomplished was extraordinary since hey even managed at one point to change the way time itself was seen. In my personal opinion no other revolution has come close to this
