The Renaissance was a period of discovery, mainly in art, literature and science, during the 15th and 16th century. It was the rebirth or reawakening from what occurred in the Middle Ages. During the Middle Ages, the Church and its teachings explained everything that happened in the world. Everything in the Middle Ages was “God centered.” Realism didn’t happen during this time period, and the people didn’t have the knowledge and interests for the world, like they did in the Renaissance. People saw the Renaissance as the focus of humanism, with the ideas and achievements that came by the people.
