During the renaissance period, Europe was the most advanced. Explorers and cartographers knew that the world was round and discovered America. Many trade routes began in Europe and spread to other continents like Africa and Asia. Europe was buzzing with new ideas and was the center of trade. While all of this was happening European economics were changing. If Columbus asked the queen of Spain for permission to fund his trip to find a new trade route 50 years later she would have never accepted.
