The Maya created one of the most advanced civilizations in the world here's why I think that. The Maya were around in the time 250 AD-900 AD until they suddenly disappeared. They lived in many different places such as Southern Central Mexico, Central America, and the Yucatan Peninsula. The Mayans were a highly developed, complex society because they were dominant to their neighbors and others. For example they had good soldiers and a good use of weapons. They did human sacrifices to keep their gods happy. A human sacrifice is when they sacrifice someone by cutting out there heart and hold it up to there god or they will sometimes cut off a different body part. The Mayans believed in many different gods each god had a different impact on them. Another thing they did was they made two calendars one was for the days in the months the other was for work days and not work days they believed when there calender ran out that the world would end. There environment had great soil for farming they lived in the hot humid jungle where they had to watch out for a animal like the jaguar they also had a hard time with the sinkholes. There shelter for normal class people was a simple house not to big but the important people lived in big houses made from stone and had good quality things.
