Genocide is a universal term that most people normally associate with the Holocaust, the mass killing of Jews and other groups by the Nazis in World War II. Although many understand the meaning of the term genocide, people seem to overlook the fact that the Holocaust is not the only genocide that has ever occurred. In fact, genocides occurred not only before the Holocaust, but even after, when the world swore that nothing along the lines of the Holocaust would ever be tolerated again.
