The Great Depression has a lot to do with the average American life. After the First World War, industrial production fell by fifty percent, businesses ended, along with many returning soldiers after the war. That led to rising unemployment, with more than thirteen million Americans losing their jobs. They have to spend many years looking for new jobs. To maintain shelter and food is very difficult for Americans. They lost their homes and farms. They must sleep on the street or in the park under a thin blanket, a small hut. No food forced them to steal food on the street or in the kitchen of a certain restaurant. Ethnic minorities suffer more from hostile incidents and ethnic violence, such as greater white-collar discrimination against blacks.
