How Did The Gettysburg Address Lincoln's Goals

Abraham Lincoln was the lawyer and American politician who was very famous and successful person in his life. Abraham Lincoln is remembered for his spirit in fighting the civil war, which were very intense and involving. In his speech in Gettysburg, he addressed the fight for constitutional rights of its citizen where he wanted equal right to be given to all especially those who were enslaved at that time. His aim was to modernize the economy and enhance the Union, which would burn slavery hence improving federal government. Lincoln was born in Indiana where he largely educated himself and become a lawyer. While still in Illinois where he used to live, he was elected under Whig Party to represent Illinois in House of Representatives for eight years. Lincoln helped in modernizing the economy through bank, railways, and tariffs. After some time Lincoln joined Republican Party and started a fight against slavery, which was largely expanding. The people from the north are the same people who plotted his assassination after radical republican demanded rough treatment on the people from the south. Lincoln had the main goal, which was to unite the nation and spread peace to everyone. Abraham Lincoln concentrated on military expansion and his political position in terms of wars. He made major decisions on the slavery trade, which blocked all the trade that took place in the south with an aim of uniting his people.
