What Is The Mistreatment Of African Americans

Ever since the Europeans have set foot onto this land, the Americas have never been the same again. The once thriving people of the area have been subjugated to mistreatment and overall loss of power. These native Americans were seen as savages and less developed than the Europeans who took over the lands. Although this is true, the Europeans did respect certain tribes for a set amount of time until they were able to cultivate and survive on the land without assistance. This is unlike the treatment of African Americans. This group of people were seen as savage as they can get. African Americans, at the time, were mainly slaves and were not even seen as people. Both of these groups of people have been slaves at one point. However, Natives played a slightly different role. Before being inducted into slavery, many tribes were able to trade with the Europeans for goods and weapons. A prime of example of this would be the fur trade between the two groups as many Europeans desired fur, even to the point of threatening a few species of animals including the otter. This trading could be seen as an equal or almost equal standing between the Natives and the Europeans.
On the other hand, African Americans can be seen as the foundation of this country. Generally speaking, African Americans were slaves in the early years of the United States. As slaves, they built many buildings and worked on the farms. Seeing this, they were very vital in building the country. This includes the country overall and especially the economy. In the early days of America, African Americans still did not have equal rights but still regarded to more than the Natives. This was the time of the Three-fifths compromise in which every slave’s vote only counted as three-fifths of the vote a free white man would have. This lasted through most of America’s history. African Americans were also a large factor in the Mexican-American War. This was due to a ban of slavery in Mexico. Texans, who have moved into the land, brought slaves with them. With this factor and a disagreement in laws placed by the Mexican government, the war was started.
Although both Native Americans and African Americans were mistreated in the history of America, it is not difficult to say that both races went through many different hardcomings. Whether it was social, economical, or political, many events occurred to shape the lives of these people in the New World known as America. The United States played a large part in these occurrences that affected the Natives and African Americans in which will never be

Some of them were still segregated by white people just because of racism. What we should give attention to is that black people still lived in the bottom of the American society. The society had completely divided human beings into two categories at that time.…
