The English Industrial Revolution changed society in a variety of ways, both good and bad. For one, it completely eliminated the barter system. With the integration of factories that pumped out mass amounts of cheap goods, people had almost nothing of value to trade. The goods that were produced by skilled tradesmen had a cheaper, larger supply, forcing many people to go work in factories to support themselves. Another way that the English Industrial Revolution changed society was by creating very overpopulated urban areas. Due to working class jobs moving from tradesmen to factory workers, many people lived in close proximity of the factories. This accompanied by a lack of sanitation and cleaning created a very unhealthy living
