The American Revolution started in 1775 and ended in 1783. There are a few reasons why it started and one of the main reasons was the 7 Years War, as known as The French Indian War from 1754-1763. George Washington who was loyal to the British defeated the French as they started having conflicts because of the French’s expansion towards the Ohio river. Within the war, Canada was also allies with the British. In 1763, a peace treaty named ‘Peace of Paris’ was signed in Paris, officially ending French power in North America.

This law placed tariffs on sugar, coffee, wines and other things imported into America in substantial amounts. Americans sees it as taxes without allegation but the British ignored it. In 1765, Stamp Act, they started excising taxes on all kinds of printed matter. It was aimed to be easy to collect but only a little money was accumulated. And tea act in 1773, Governor Hutchinson thought tea would land and tax would be collected and in December 16, a band of colonists disguised as Indians dumped the tea overboard and this made the British furious. The Americans weren’t happy with the taxes and hence Boston tea party happened as they dumped tea boxes into the Boston harbor. The colonists started protesting and resisting the new taxes, claiming that the taxes are too harsh and that taxation without representation is not fair.
