The American Dream is something that has shaped the face of america since the birth of 1774. It has Inspired americans to achieve great things. It has inspired people to come to america to achieve their American dream. The American dream has changed since its Independence 239 years ago. The american dream is different for each person. There are many factors that contribute to an individual's American dream. Society is something that greatly impacts the american dream. Society changes quite often, and so does the American dream.

The Declaration of Independence is an emblem of what America stands for. Even though it is not an official American law, the Declaration of Independence is the framework on which america was founded.

At one time the westward expansion was the american dream. For some immigrants, coming to America, the land that had streets paved with gold, was fulfilling a dream. Some were able to become successful in this “Land of Opportunity” . They were able to achieve the American Dream. In the 50’s, the American dream was to be sucessful man. It was to have a white picket fence in the suburbs. It was to have a perfect family. Nowadays the American dream is hard to pinpoint. It could be inventing the next big product like steve jobs did. It could be becoming a star in hollywood. It could simply be becoming successful enough to support yourself.

I do not know what my American dream is. I do not think that there is any clear cut “American Dream” in modern America, or at least not for me. I want to succeed in life. I want to go to college, get a job, and find a place to live. I want to do something to impact the world. The last one is less of an example of the “American dream”. Instead it is a dream that has propelled people from all around the world to achieve great things. I agree with the words of the Declaration of Independence.
