He savagely scalped Jumonville and then washed his hands in his blood. A gruesome and disturbing image! You support this argument quite well in your post. I, too, believe that Tanaghrisson intentionally killed Jumonville. He was acting on behalf of all Indians, whose land had been claimed by the French. But let us not forget about the French. The official French version describes a different story. They reported that Jumonville was assassinated; a death of by gunshot. These contradictions are what make Jumonville’s death a mystery.
