Sir Rowland Hill was born in December 3, 1795 (Postal Service). He was born into a family, who believed that education was key to achieve success in the real-world. If his parents taught him the importance of education and intellect, then, “the Hill family, buffeted at times by economic adversity, was exceptionally close and indeed operated as a well-ordered regiment in pursuit of the group's self-advancement and in support of its belief in liberal causes” (Perry, C. R.). This shows that Hill’s family were a clan of reformers and scholars despite given their economic situation.
