A period that followed the Middle Ages. It is known as the Renaissance. It was a time of revival of learning and values of the Ancient Greece and Rome. There was very many innovations and creations during this time period. “There was a development of new technology, like the printing press, a new system of astronomy and the discovery and exploration of new continents” (history.com). Many subjects of learning were literature, philosophy and art. The styles of art were introduced in Italy in the late 14th century. The styles were painting, sculpting, and decorating. Theses types of styles didn't reach their zenith until the late 15th and early 16th century. Many artists and English writers were very famous during this time period and they are still famous today. Although Shakespeare's parents were very different they still had emotions for each other. Shakespeare's childhood was very hard. His family was not very fortunate with their income. He lived his childhood in Stratford-upon-Avon and he attended King Stratford’s grammar school. He attended this school until the age of thirteen when he was removed. He was removed due to financial difficulties with his father. It is believed that William was influenced for his works by reading the Roman dramatists in grammar school. “William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language”(en.n.wikipedia.org). His first career job was acting. He played small roles in plays. Everyone first heard about him in 1585 when he wrote his first poem. He became very famous after he wrote this poem.
