William Shakespeare was one of the most important people in the 1500s -1600s, his work made a huge impact on the entertainment field in the Middle Ages.

Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-
Avon in Warwickshire and was baptized on April 26 1564 (The exact date of his birthday is unknown). In 1593, Shakespeare became a published poet when Venus and Adonis (one of his first written pieces) was published. In 1596, Shakespeare’s 11 year old son, Hamlet, passed away. This later inspired him to write the play, Hamlet, Which is still performed in theaters across the world. Shakespeare had 3 children with his wife, a farmers daughter, Anne Hathaway. The two were married in 1582.
