During his ten year career he was on staff in New York and Los Angeles as a contributor, columnist, and a senior writer for People Magazine. Some of the stars that he interview were Shaquille O’Neill, Michael J. Fox, Christopher Reeve, Jennifer Lopez, and Donald Trump. He was very skilled in all areas or writing. “Rudy” is a drama and a sports novel. It’s a classic underdog story that lets you feel the character emotions. It is motivational and eye opening, he show you how to make your dreams come true. I really find it hard to describe the age group of the book “Rudy”. One would believe that it would be focused at teens, but really it would be focused at all age groups. It reaches anyone that has gotten knocked down and has gotten back up. …show more content…
Rudy was the oldest of 14 children that his mom Betty Ruettiger and dad Daniel O. Ruettiger had. Rudy loved sports; he played baseball while he was growing up as a child. He even attended a Yankees game where he caught the game ball. Rudy played baseball up until he was in high school. That’s when his dad made him go to a different high school that had a football program, and he loved it. Rudy wasn’t the smartest kid in school in fact he hated school and the only reason that he was still going was to play football. Rudy’s dream was to one day play football for Norte Dame. However his grades were a low, his athletic skills weren’t great, and he was half the size of the other players. But he had the drive and spirit of five people and he had his sights on not only going to college at Norte Dame but also playing for the Fighting Irish
