Waiting in Mantua would of given Juliet enough time to awake and find Romeo to live happily ever after with. But when Romeo found out Juliet was “dead,” he felt as if he had to run to her. “I will hence tonight” (Act 5, line 26). What Romeo meant by this was that he was going to leave Mantua, and go to Juliet. If Romeo had stayed in Mantua, he would not have found Juliet “dead” and would not have killed himself to be with her. Many believe that Romeo and Juliet were destined to die that day no matter what they did differently. They believe that if they did not commit suicide, in some other way, they were going to die. Although that is a good point, may other people think that Romeo was so star struck and blinded by Juliet’s beauty that he didn’t think before he acted. So a question many people ponder is, “Would Romeo and Juliet had lived longer, or would their destiny and fate killed them anyways?” This question will never be answered because they are both dead and gone.
