The first bad decision starts when Romeo goes to the Capulet party where he meets Juliet. They immediately fall in love and share a kiss. Juliet has a caretaker, who they call nurse and she finds out who Romeo is. When nurse figures out who Romeo is she says: “His name is Romeo, and a Montague, The only son of your great enemy.” (Act I scene V) …show more content…
The last choice that had a huge impact on the tragedy is Juliet’s choice to fake her death. Friar thinks this is the perfect plan for Romeo and Juliet to be together. Romeo goes to visit Juliet’s lifeless body and consumed by grief decides to drink the potion given to him by the apothecary. Juliet wakes up seconds after to see her husband dead. Upset that her plan did not work she slays herself with his dagger to be with him.
In this tragedy there are may suggestions that fate was the cause of all these events. Such as when Romeo hears of Juliet’s death he states: “Then I defy you, stars!” Suggesting that it was the stars fault and not his own decisions. However, in this example fate could not be a valid point because Juliet is not dead.
In the end this tragic ending was very unfortunate but not the result of fate. Instead, the characters could have prevented it. If Romeo wouldn’t have went to the party, Juliet would have never met him. Romeo killing Tybalt cause his own banishment. And lastly, if Juliet wouldn’t have faked her death Romeo wouldn’t have poisoned
