Many people have heard the famous story of Romeo and Juliet. They were two young teenagers who fell in love and thought they were destined to be together, but they were wrong. Romeo and Juliet made some pretty terrible decisions, which they payed for by not being able to be together. Romeo and Juliet have been said to be star-crossed lovers, but are really just two young teenagers who are known for bad choices.
In the beginning of the play, it introduces the two houses: the Montagues and the Capulets. The two houses do not get along and disgrace one another. Romeo’s first not so great decision was to sneak into the Capulet’s party, which starts the clash between Romeo and Tybalt (Shakespeare 393-394).

Later on in the play, Friar Lawrence marries Romeo and Juliet. Romeo becomes to soft to fight since he is “in love” and won’t fight Tybalt since they are now family. Because Romeo isn’t in the condition to fight, Romeo’s best friend Mercutio has to fight for him. Because of Romeo, Mercutio gets killed by Tybalt. This makes Romeo very angry and goes to fight Tybalt. As Romeo fights Tybalt, he cries out “This shall determine that” (Shakespeare 429). This was definitely a bad decision on Romeo’s part. The killing of Tybalt cause a banishment for Romeo.
Juliet hears about the banishment of her husband and it makes her very upset. Her father wants her to marry Paris and everyone agrees. The nurse tells Juliet that she should just marry Paris since Romeo is banished. She goes to Friar for a potion that puts her to sleep so people think she’s dead and won’t have to get married. Juliet goes home and heads up to her room, but before Juliet drinks the potion from Friar, she says: “Romeo, Romeo, Romeo I drink to thee!” (Shakespeare 457) and then falls to sleep.
