How did Robert Walpole influence the English government? What did he accomplish with his political presence?

Robert stabilized the government with his ability to understand and influence men. He was a strategic economist and was able to maneuver the stock market to pay national war debts. He knew how to gain the king’s favor by supporting him in parliament and ruling firmly. With the king’s favor he received money and additional power such as influence over court appointments. His political machine survived him and that provided long term stability for the country as a whole.
