President Richard Nixon: Richard Nixon became president during the year of 1969 and his final term ended in the year 1974. Richard Nixon played a big role towards certain events and ideas which influenced future presidents on their own or continuing the idea. It starts off with the Sun Belt which was a region in the south where the climate contains mild winter, frequent sunny skies. In the year of 1978, a GPS was first launched in the year of one of his terms. During his final years, in 1979 the Moral Majority was founded and it was a political organization group designed to do things like allow prayer during school and try to have stricter laws against abortion. Many people were at first happy for the winning of his presidency however he had many national problems. Specifically issues like stagflation. Stagflation is when the inflation rate is extremely high but economic growth slows down and unemployment stays high. President Carter was also was a president during Camp David Accords which were twelve days of negotiations were held in secret at Camp David led by President Jimmy Carter and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem. The Accords established framework for a historic peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. Another event known as the Iran Hostage Crisis was towards the end of his term. This was a diplomatic crisis between the United States and Iran where 66 Americans were being held captive. Another event during the end of his year was when the Soviet invaded Afghanistan because they wanted to set up a communist government. So Carter was like “I am going to enact an embargo towards the Soviet” and he did. Embargos are bans of trades or actions towards a particular
