Pearl Harbor As does a bottle of shaken soda, the tension between americans and Japanese fizzed to the explosion, while the U.S. tried to stay away from the World War the Japanese thought they had the perfect chance to knock America out completely, like Muhammad Ali k.o.’s his opponents. The Japanese and Americans had had problems dating back to the late 1800’s when an american naval captain forced japan to become social with the outside world. That event could have been what led Japan to the shores of Hawaii to seek “revenge”. While the Americans helped other countries with their problems they themselves didn't engage in combat like the other countries. Previous uncalled for actions frustrated americans and civilians around the world. The American people were furious when: “Japanese aircraft sank the U.S. gunboat Panay, which was on patrol on the Yangtze River near Nanking, with significant U.S. casualties.”(“Japan Launches,” par.4). The Japanese also at the time were invading China in order to gain more land, which frustrated many countries. During this time the Germans were concentrating on making a so called arien race which was what Hitler believed to be the perfect race. When the Japanese joined,“the Axis powers with Italy and Germany”,they begun, “began to expand into northern Indochina.”(“Pearl Harbor,” violence par.4). When they decided to join forces with the Germans, who were the antagonists of the World War 2, the world went into shock and disbelief. The U.S. tried their best to keep their cool by not making any military actions; instead the U.S. put economic sanctions on Japan. The Japanese thought of America as the antagonist in this particular
