I can connect to the desire to want to promote art education for public schools, because I have attended public schools. As a student myself within public schools I know that we did not have all of the resources to have a full orchestra, which is hurtful to the performing arts education of the children attending. I count myself lucky though, because it could have always been worse, like not having enough stands to hold music or having financial means to go to competitions. There is a direct relationship to poverty and the upkeep of local public schools, which is public knowledge. This is relationship is why Paul McCartney has donated millions to the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (L.I.P.A) along with other schools to help fund scholarship opportunities for young adults and promote charitable spending of other donors. The starving artist is the predicament that many people are afraid of being in the performing arts scene, however about 88% of individuals who graduate from L.I.P.A will have a job as they graduate in the performing arts field.
