To begin with, Mr. Williams was obviously African American, and to be black in America at that time was extremely tough to make a living. In fact it was practically impossible to grow up with respect and live a humane life as an African American. Ozzie Williams blocked out all the negativity that could have or would have kept him down and unsuccessful. He gained enough courage to put all the racism and threats that were meant to stop him from becoming successful, and turn them into his motivation in why he should pursue his goals into obtaining higher education. Ozzie Williams went through slight discrimination because he was a northerner. Williams had finally obtained his bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering in 1943 at New York University. He later received his master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the same university he that he attended in 1943 in 1947. Ozzie Williams was a brilliant individual; his work was authentic. Williams helped design the P47 Thunderbolt, which was pivotal in the war effort. Williams was very intelligent and hardworking; it took a lot of bravery and courage to overcome some of the obstacles he got challenged
