I do not agree with the statement, Napoleon had no choice but to invade Russia. I don't believe this because Napoleon invaded Russia because he was greedy and wanted more land even though he had plenty. When he went into Russia for war, Russia burned all the grain fields, and slaughtered most of the livestock, this left nothing for Napoleon in a soldiers to eat. Even when Napoleon knew about this, he did not back down. Napoleon stayed in Moscow until the middle of October when he decided to retreat from the fight. Many soldiers died in the war and on their way back home from being murdered, being exhausted, hungry, and cold. They got home in the middle of December, this was way too late. By making this choice he killed 410,000 of his soldiers.
