Therefore, Montresor never had to take the blame, or, even have people know he was associated with Fortunato. Similarly, “An Eye for An Eye” went down the same way. Then, they took him down to a underground dungeon. There, the friends of Massie shackled Green down to the ground and began to seal him inside, by building up bricks with cement.
