Before 1880 to 1914 , Europe was peaceful and feeling pretty darned good.Living and technology were getting better and better. Everyone has jobs. Its art and music were the envy of the world. However, after 50 years of peace, people’s confidence was badly shaken since many things happened like lots of soldiers had died, writers wrote about broken dreams, everyone was disappointed and wondered what had gone wrong. Militarism is when a country started to store weapons and hired more soldiers. Everyone believed that military was the only and the best way to solve all the problems. Therefore, the underlying cause of World War Ⅰ was militarism because militarism makes wars easier to form since they had weapons and soldiers always ready to go.

THerefore, they don’t want to be controlled so they started grabbing land and battle the countries which stopped them. In their opinions, they thought a strong army and a strong fleet means power to them and it also represents they are not the “slave of humanity”. However, tensions happened again since the strong country does not want the rest being conquered or get into they way of their countries.. This led to people started to rebel since it was unfair that only the strong country was uncontrolled and everyone has the ambition of being conquered. They started storing weapons and want to become the attacker which is totally the definition of militarism.All the evidences have backed the thesis up that militarism was the main cause of World War I.
