The Game Changer Many basketball stars are idols. Others can be game changers, but few are both. One example is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is one of the most iconic stars of basketball. He has inspired many people. Jordan has contracts with Nike and has wowed many fans. Michael Jordan is known for his awards, and he is known for his skills in the game. Jordan was born on February 17, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York. He was born and raised to James and Deloris Jordan. When he was young he moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael lived with a family of five children including himself. His father worked as a general electric plant supervisor, and his mother worked at a bank. Michael’s mother has taught him to sew, clean, and do laundry while he was enjoying sports and going to school. He loved sports so much he played many as a child, but growing up only played basketball. He played baseball and basketball until he chose to dedicate his high school years to basketball. In his first season he averaged 28.2 points per game.Once Jordan got drafted around 6,000 fans attended home games. He was selected for the all-star game that season; however, “his second season was marred by injury”(Biography.com). Jordan was the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to score over 3,000 points in a single season. Next season after his injury he won MVP, most valuable player. Jordan made the Bulls an all-star team. Along with Bill Cartwright, Horace Grant, and John Paxson one main companion was Scottie Pippen. Jordan was playing amazingly until the “1985-96 season his broken foot sidelined him for 64 games”(Biography.com). Surprisingly to many fans Jordan returned to the NBA with a 49 point game. That season 1.5 million votes were casted for
