There have been many people throughout the world that have affected the world and the sports world in many ways. Michael Jordan is a person who has greatly made a difference in athletics and has been an inspiration to people. Some ways that he inspired people and made a difference in more than just sports are that he is hardworking, competitive, and he was also charitable. The first reason he is a world leader is because he is hardworking. He played basketball since he was a kid and he graduated college early so he could follow his dream of being a basketball player and his dream to play in games professionally. He was also the first person since Wilt Chamberlin to “ score more than 3,000 points in a single season” (Michael). He would play with dedication and he would put a lot of effort into his games. He had trained for years and he finally got where he wanted to be. …show more content…
He would show this in many of his games and also in everyday life. For example, he would play games against many people and he would trash talk. Michael Jordan once “... lost to Daly in golf in Monte Carlo. The next morning, he pounded on Daly’s door … until Daly finally agreed to play him again. Jordan won” (Manfred). This could also show his determination to win and to be the best since he does not give up until he has won. Finally, he is also a very charitable person. Some ways that he showed this is when he gave money to charities in Chicago. He created the Michael Jordan Foundation which “ (... raises money for 25 youth-oriented charities) along with efforts to fulfill the 75 requests per week he receives from sick children who want to sit beside him on the Bulls bench” (Michael). He has made a lot of other actions that show he is charitable. An example of this is when he won money from a case in court and he didn’t keep the money. Instead of keeping the money, he gave it to some charities in Chicago.
