The King of Pop
Michael Jackson also known as the King of Pop had a legacy of great music. Michael appeals to many different types of people different races, and different cultures. Michael has been a very inspiring person throughout and before his career. There isn’t really one particular way that Jackson helped shape or impact on society. “Michael Jackson connected with his millions of fans through his sounds, fashion, videos, culture and influences” (Baltimore Sun). First and for most, Jackson used sound to influence the world through pop, rock, disco, and or Jazz. The majority of Jackson’s music consist of two or more genres or music, then only was he able to embrace his fans and critics with his amazing voice and sounds. Michael Jackson danced with a special smoothness. He had mastered “the moonwalk,” although he did not create the dance, it captured his fans along with his legendary crouch grab, his sharp spins, snaps, and smooth pivots. Michael Jackson was known as “The King of Pop”(Baltimore Sun). He single handedly fortified the music television channel and turned not only his music into an art form. Jackson may have influenced many musicians that came after him; whether it was in a positive or negative way. He was unavoidable to where you just couldn’t not listen to or watch. Jackson broke the color barrier, he was no ordinary celebrity, he was and icon, a superstar. Before his release of “Billy Jean,” the music channel had never played any other black musicians music.
