The ending of Romeo & Juliet was not very satisfying in terms of how happy it was. William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet has many moments that could be changed, in order to result in a happier more satisfying ending. A few of these events would be for Mercutio to not get in a fight and get killed. And another event would be for Juliet to wake before Romeo Drinks the poison. Either one of these event changes could independently result in a more conclusive and satisfying ending.

Mercutio’s courage and impulsiveness caused him to get into a fight with Tybalt that would result in Mercutio's death. If this fight were to not take place the story would have changed drastically. Mercutio died after being stabbed in a fight with Tybalt, his friends

Romeo committed suicide because he thought Juliet was dead and wanted to join her in death. Romeo was so passionate and true to his love. Convinced of her death he said “Here’s to my love. O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die”(2971-2973). Romeo kissed Juliet and then drank a vial of poison. Shortly After Romeo’s death Juliet woke from her false sleep to see her dead husband on the floor next to her. So, she decided to join him in the afterlife. “ O, happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rust, and let me die.”(3027). Juliet was so traumatized and impulsive as a result of her husband's death, so she impaled herself with Romeo’s sword. If Juliet were to wake up before he drank the poison, neither of them would have killed themselves and could have lived outside of Verona together.

In conclusion, the fate of Romeo and Juliet was very tragic but, could have been changed. A change would result if Mercutio did not get in a fight, or if Juliet woke from her false sleep, before Romeo drank the poison. Both of these story changing events could have resulted in Romeo and Juliet living happily together. In the end several lives were lost and could have been prevented if the Montagues and Capulets could have sought common ground, recognized their similarities and accepted they are both part of a bigger

Most of the characters in this play die as a result of Romeo and Juliet’s love. From Paris to Mercutio, to Romeo and Juliet themselves, they all die as a result of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. None of these deaths would have happened if Romeo and Juliet had not been so “in love”. Most of these deaths were accidents and/or not “directly” related to their relationship, but if you tear back the layers, you can clearly see that these deaths were caused by Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. Take Mercutio’s death for example.…

There many things that can be said about the concept of true friendship and brotherhood. Quotes such as “never make a companion equal to a brother” and “true love is rare, but friendship is rarer”, depict the idea that these two concepts are infrequent and scarce. In Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, the cause of Mercutio's death can be attributed to the circumstances that surrounded the two families. The friction between the Capulets and Montague's family environments was quite a hostile one which supported multiple violent acts. Before Mercutio died, his last few words were, “A plague a’ both your houses!”(A3.S1.L108). Rather than blaming Tybalt for his death, Mercutio put a curse on both the Capulet and Montague houses. The emotional conflict between the families certainly played a dominant role in the death of Mercutio.…
