As Martin Luther King Junior once said in his famous speech “I Have a Dream” “We cannot walk alone.” and “We cannot turn back.” (King) Doctor King knew that on the 28th of August in 1963 Mr. King’s speech would go down in history. He was up the night before until early morning writing the speech. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist preacher and a Civil Rights activist, little did he know that Dr. King’s speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC would make him even more famous. Nearly 300,000 people from around the United States gathered to listen to Martin Luther King Jr. that fateful morning.
