Martin was born on the 15th of January 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, to parents Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. Segregation became illegal in America in January of 1957 with Martin's help. He continued to work on African- Americans equal rights, where he believed they should be given the right to vote, which Martin began protesting on in 1957. Black people had the right to vote on the 6th of August 1965. This led him to be a national figure and one of the best spokesman of the civil rights movement. On the 28th of August 1963, Martin made a speech which has become one of the world's most famous speeches.
